The Linhay
The Linhay was once a 19th century farm building. In recent times it has been adjoined to the main residence and converted to offer the perfect space for couples to escape the ordinary.
The Linhay was once a 19th century farm building. In recent times it has been adjoined to the main residence and converted to offer the perfect space for couples to escape the ordinary.
Refurbished in 2020, the Linhay is accessed via the traditional courtyard. Guests will find a well-appointed kitchen with Dualit appliances, a full-sized oven, Nespresso machine, Emma Bridgewater crockery and a microwave. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it and heated towel rail – perfect for soaking tired muscles after a day exploring! The cosy sitting area with sofa, lots of cushions and woodburning stove is part of the main open-plan space which also includes a dining table and the very comfortable king-sized bed with feather duvet and 100% cotton sheets.
The separate entrance porch has room for boots, coats, hats and a log basket for the wood burner. Double doors lead off of the living space to an outside area at the rear of the property. Here guests will find a seating area which overlooks the tennis court – ideal for a glass of something cold at the end of the day!
There is an allocated parking space at the front of the property, so access with bags is very easy! Guests are very welcome to bring along a dog, but are asked to abide by Emmetts on Exmoor’s dog policy. The Linhay is based on the ground floor but there are two steps down to the kitchen and bathroom.
Dependant on availability, the Linhay can be booked alongside the main residence or Hangley Cottage. Contact the Emmetts on Exmoor team to discuss availability and special pricing for multiple properties.
